Climate change is associated with the increased average temperatures, more extreme heat throughout the year, fewer cool days during the winter, and more frequent cold-season thaws. Higher CO2 levels, altered temperature, and lack of ozone layer can affect crop yields. If the temperature exceeds a crop's optimal level and if water and nutrients are limited, yields will be reduced. Extreme temperature and precipitation will prevent the efficient growing of crops. The ranges and distribution of weeds and pests will increase. Drought may threaten pasture and feed supplies and increase the prevalence of parasites and diseases affecting livestock. To prevent the negative effects of climate change, the farmers can practice efficient irrigation, use renewable energy for their needs, increase soil quality using organic nutrients, reduce the release of livestock methane emission, etc.
