A protein motif is a structure containing multiple secondary structures in a stable arrangement, and is commonly found in different proteins, not necessarily having any similarity in function. А protein domain is a stable structure with a specific, definite function in the protein and can exist independently of the protein i.e. it can maintain its structure even if it is separated from the protein .
