DNA consists of purines and pyrimidines nitrogenous bases as a part of nucleotides. Two purines are adenine and guanine and two pyrimidines are cytosine and thymine. Now guanine pairs with cytosine by the help of three hydrogen bonds and adenine pairs with thymine by the help of two hydrogen bonds.
