No, temporal arch is present in most terrestrial vertebrates. But, it is has specificities in organization in each group. The classical temporal arch is present in reptilians, excepting snakes. It is called superior temporal arch. Inferior temporal arch is present in lizards and superior temporal arch is identified in birds. Mammals have one temporal arch, called zygomatic arch.
