Human Anatomy

An increase in cholesterol intake in your diet results in hardening of the blood vessels. This results in the heart straining to pump blood which automatically leads to high blood pressure. If this persists, it can lead to circulatory disease. Smoking results in blockage of blood vessels taking blood to heart. This blockage of the arteries results in coronary heart disease. Cells of the lungs on the lining of the lungs are damaged by smoking, resulting in lung cancer. Smoking raises blood pressure due to the blockage of blood vessels and also increases heart rate.
