Immediately after exercise the amplitude of the pulse was larger than during resting period.

The finger pulse amplitude before exercise was 30 and after exercise was 70.

The amplitude of the pulse depends primarily on the magnitude of the stroke volume and the volumetric velocity of blood flow in diastole, which is also affected by the elasticity of the vessels that absorb shocks.

The walls of the arteries, which are stretched during systole, accumulate energy, and

during diastole they fall and give off the accumulated energy.
