During meiosis-I prophase -I consists of five sub stages. They are leptotene,Zygotene,Pachytene,Diplotene and Diakinesis .During Pachytene crossing over occurs athe point of crossing x -shaped structures are formed called Chaismata.After crossing over homologous chromosomes start separating.During separation the chaismata move towards terminal ends of chromosomes.The movement of chaismata towards terminal ends is called terminilazation.
