1) "\\beta-" oxidation is the process of degradation (destruction) of fatty acids. Accordingly, this process is not characteristic of amino acids.

2) Consider the process of assembling intermediate filaments. There are 4 main processes: the formation of a dimer (spiral); tetramer formation (from dimers); tetramers combine and form a protofilament; filament is formed from the connected tetramers. Accordingly, it can be argued that protofilaments are formed by tetramers.
