Answer to Question #1408 in Bioinformatics for Nayia

Question #1408
Essentially mammalian interspersed repeats are found in all mammalian genomes, and have been recruited to provide additional parts of the coding sequence. The question I want to ask is how to address whether there is any functional significance of the recruitment of these sequences.
I have to use Bioinformatics approaches to look at the conservation of these sequences, in genes implicated in Alzheimers genes.
