Japanese encephalitis - an infectious disease caused by Japanese encephalitis virus, which belongs to the group IV (+ single-stranded RNA viruses) , family Flaviviridae, genus Flavivirus. In addition, this virus belongs to the Arbovirus, what means its spread with arthropod vectors (Culex tritaeniorhynchus, Culex vishnui, Aedes japonicus etc) There are following preventive measures of the disease: mosquito control in endemic regions, personal protection from mosquito bites and immunization by vaccination. There are some types of vaccines : SA14-14-2 , IC51, ChimeriVax-JE, based on the virus genotype type lll. Active immunity is guaranteed to be 2-3 years.
