Electrolytes are small charged molecules (i.e. ions) that can conduct electricity through solutionIn blood plasma we can find a lot of substances such as lipids, carbohydrates, some proteins or small uncharged molecules (like O2, N2) that cannot be electrolytes because they are uncharged and do not dissolve to ions.
