The initiating methionyl-tRNA, it occupies the P site at the beginning of the elongation phase of translation in prokaryotes and eukaryotes.

when ribosome moves along the mRNA , each mRNAcodon comes into register, and specific binding with the corresponding charged tRNA anticodon is ensured.

Eukaryotic translation initiation may be a very complicated process, involving many initiationfactors. The most widespread mechanism for the invention of the beginning codon is that the scanning of the mRNA by a pre-initiation complex until the primary AUG codon during a correct context is found.
