Boiling point is the temperature at which the vapor pressure of the liquid is equal to external pressure over the liquid. However, in a deep vessel, in addition to the atmospheric pressure on the vapor bubbles, the head pressure on the bubbles also acts, which can not be neglected, because in general, the boiling point will be different from 100 degrees (it will be higher).
