A professional code of ethics refers to set guidelines that teams or institution use to make sound organizational decisions. Its set enables an individual to have basic knowledge of the socially acceptable behaviours and actions on how professionals approach organizational problems. Though creating and maintaining a professional code of ethics, organization contain employees who work honestly and with integrity. A professional code of ethics create a healthier working environment


A professional code of ethics ensures employees behave in a manner that is socially acceptable and respectful of one another. It establishes the rules for behaviour and sends a message to every employee that universal compliance is expected. It also provides the groundwork for a preemptive warning if employees break the code. A code of ethics can be valuable not just internally as a professional guide but also externally as a statement of a company’s values and commitments.


  1. A physician code of ethics improves competence in medical care, with compassion and respect for human dignity and rights.
  2. As a physician code of ethics maintain the standards of professionalism, being honest in all professional interactions and strive to report physicians deficient in character or competence, or engaging in fraud or deception, to appropriate entities.
  3. Code of ethics will enable a physician in respecting the law and recognize a responsibility to seek changes in those requirements which are contrary to the best interests of the patient.
