1. Imagine your local community has just experienced a drastic increase in suicide attempts following a period of huge economic growth and prosperity. Community leaders are dumbfounded and looking for answers as to the causes of the increase and for solutions to the problem. As someone who has just studied Durkheim what answers would you provide them? What possible solutions would you maybe recommend and why? Remember, define and use specific concepts in your anwer.

According Durkheim's theory,the society puts pressure on individuals.The positive growth and success of economy might have different effects on different individuals.Some people might have gained more wealth while others might have lost a significant percentage of their wealth.Due to the loss and the society pressure from the people growing economically,most of the individuals opted to commit suicide.The increase of suicide cases is also attributed to lack of a solution to regain the lost wealth and also the impossibility of ever regaining the wealth.The community leaders should give lots of counselling to the affected individuals and assure them of the possibility of regaining their wealth.
