Answer to Question #158988 in Sociology for Ella

Question #158988

Evaluate the usefulness of Marxist approach to a sociological understanding of society

Expert's answer

Marx argued that there is a lot of conflicts in the society because of the division between the proletariat and bourgeoisie.

The connection between these two society's classes is exploitative. This is because the wages paid to the worker by the employer is less than the overall value of goods and services produced by this worker.

Therefore, Marx believed that the capitalist withdraw the surpus value(the difference between the total value of goods and what the worker is paid) from the worker.

Therefore, profit is merely the accumulated exploitation of employees in the capitalist society
