By internalization of values and discipline during the education, the child is initiated into the society. But education has a broader meaning than socialization. It is all that goes on in the society which involves teaching and learning, whether intended or unintended, to make a person a functional member of that society.

Education is related to culture, religion, family structures, level of industrial development and rate of urbanization, political organization and stratification in society.
