Ever since losing his job, Steve has been experiencing a lot of stress, anxiety, and depressed mood. He hasn’t been eating or sleeping well. While his wife has tried to be supportive, she has expressed here concern that he isn’t trying hard enough to find a new job. While they have been attempting to maintain sexual intimacy in their relationship, Steve frequently has a long delay in ejaculation and often times can’t ejaculate at all. According to the DSM 5 Criteria, what diagnosis would be appropriate?

Treatment for delayed ejaculation.

Depression and anxiety can be addressed through CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) if a mood or anxiety disorder is causal. Couples counseling may be indicated to enhance communication and resolve tensions and conflicts if this is a contributing or complicating factor.
