Engaging in conversation that validates the client's emotion, such as "I can tell you're angry right now," goes a long way in helping the child express him/herself. Moreover, observing the child's patterns and identifying triggers will establish routines that will help avoid aggressive behaviors. Consequently, I would recommend the parents to set simple tasks for their child, then reward him/her if they come close or accomplish the goals.
