The fact that we can see and succumb to power means that power has both positive and negative consequences. Power can be seen as evil or unjust; however, power can also be seen as good and as something inherited or given for exercising humanistic objectives that will help, move, and empower others as well.
  2. In social science and politics, power is the capacity of an individual to influence the actions, beliefs, or conduct (behaviour) of others. It is the ability to exercise one's will over others or, in other words, power is the ability of individuals or groups to make their own interests or concerns count, even when others resist. It sometimes involves the direct use of force. Force is the actual or threatened use of coercion to impose one's will on others.
  3. In a country where the power of the government is overused, the people feel like being in-prisoned and their personal freedom is being taken away. Misuse of power occurs when those in power, be they a government or some other big corporation try to circumvent the established processes to get their way. Again people feel like being disempowered and helpless.
  4. Those affected become discouraged and feel helpless . They lose interest and ability to act for their own good.
