The sources of foreign policy of South Africa are its territorial size and boundary, geographic location, its level and capacity of economic development, history and culture, government structure, internal affairs, the ruling African National Congress party, economic and political ideology, technology, military power, external environment, and international treaties (Qobo & Nyathi, 2016).

The principles of South Africa’s foreign policy include human rights; respect for justice and international law; the advancement of African interests; and regional and international economic co-operation.

The sources and principles of South Africa’s foreign policy helps the country be regarded as a source of international human rights center. They also make the country act as economic hub. They also put the country on the international map where it can insert influence on international affairs.
