Modernism is a living and being in a qualified, different and new world which is not in the past. It includes change, transition created and applied to human and its natural environment. Modernism is an idea where the individuals are able to orient everything as he wishes and believes he is capable of doing everything by using his intelligence. Postmodernism is a society net which formed its own life forms. It does not foresee the freedom of mind, it defends the local traditions. Postmodern era is period since 1875 when the west civilization was in darkness. Modernism considers reason and science as efficient, reliable basis of knowledge while postmodernism considers reason and science as myths created by man as ideologies governing the society. Modernism upholds democracy as reasonable beliefs that are true and universal and that define who an individual is in the society while on the other hand postmodernism considers democracy and capitalism as western ideologies that colonize and compete other foreign cultures. Modernism theory assumes, truth exists independently on human consciousness and is identified when reason is applied while post modernism assumes that truth may exist but it cannot be applied. Modernism explains that women are oppressed by patriarchy and can use reason to get independence and be empowered. On the other hand postmodernism assumes that masculine and feminine contexts are culturally constructed and that gender roles are culturally relative in all traditions.
