God created ma in His image but did not make him immortal and did not also make his soul immortal. Only God is composed of spirit, which is eternal. However, human beings were created out of an organic substance that constitutes the earth. That is, man was made a living being and not an immortal soul since God breathed life into man (Genesis 2:7). Additionally, the devil wanted Eve to believe around the concept of an immortal when Eve uttered that they were not instructed not to eat from the tree of knowledge. Overall, we were created to become living beings thus we have not an immortal soul.
