Two workers are pulling on ropes attached to a tree stump one of them pull by 50 N and another one pull by 40 N the angle between tow forces is 60 degree . Find the magnitude and direction of the resultant force on the tree.

We assume, that axis goes by direction of first worker.
So, second is pulling with the force equal toF*cos(60)=40/2=20N
So, Magnitude is 70 N
Direction can be calculated next way:50/sinå=40/sin(60-å)(sine theorem)
So, direction is (from secondworker) å=arctan(3.5/sqrt(3))=31.853
