My stand regarding “whom-you-know” policy in an organization when it comes to recruitment, selection, and placement of employees is that the policy is bad. This is because the so called “whom-you-know” policy tends to exclude the experienced professionals during recruitments and placement of employees where by organizational directors and supervisors recruit the people they know more so their friends or family members without considering their professional qualifications.

The “whom-you-know” policy has also led to decrease in production of organization because of hiring of unskilled labor that is not conversant with the job offered to them and therefore they end up offering poor services.

The policy has also led to increase of educated unemployment where by the educated remain unemployed due to lack of connections in the organizations and instead the unskilled end up being employed because they have a senior person in the organization who knows them and who updates them when chances of employment arise.
