In any given organization conflict arise and it can be either functional or dysfunctional disagreement. Functional conflict is a constructive disagreement between two groups or individuals in an organization with a positive outcome. Functional conflict is considered healthy because it brings change and new solutions to a situation. Therefore, functional conflict brings improvement to an organization. On the other hand, dysfunctional conflict is considered unhealthy since the outcome of the disagreement is negative. They curtail progress and put barriers to solving a problem. Therefore, they are destructive whenever they happen in an organization.
