The tall poppy syndrome defines the term discrediting the ability of a person’s monitory value which that person has earned through hard work. This leads to criticism of the person and depriving their success where the co-workers try to pull down the image of the other worker just because of pure jealousy. To some extent, tall poppy syndrome is seen in the workplace. This is evident when a negative comment is being heard from the co-worker regarding a particular job which could have been done easily (Kirkwood and Viitanen, 2015). This has put up a negative image on the professional reputation since the person is holding a superior position in the organization than the person who is giving some negative comments on the works of the victim.
