Reinforcement theory focuses more on shaping behaviour by controlling the consequences of the behaviour. It is a combination of rewards and punishments with the aim of reinforcing or extinguishing a particular habit. Furthermore, it focuses more on the effect that the consequences of past behaviour have on future behaviour and that is why it is also called Behavior Modification Theory.
