Creation of health and safety committee is a requirement by the health and safety act. This is to ensured there is a statutory provision guiding entities in how to come up with the committee and its roles in the organizations. The committee should comprise of representatives of the staff and management representatives. It help in coming up with safety measures in the work place, provide an avenue to workers to report in case of emergency and also help the organization in understanding the area to invest more on in terms of enhancing safety in the workplace. Workers health is a major issues in any organization and proper compensation guidelines should be in place in case of any accident occurring. Health and safety committee ensures it takes time to observe activities and processes in the work place to help prevent future risks and identify weaknesses and gaps that may lead to injuries and harming of workers.
