As a manager these are the ways you can apply this approach in your organization for better outcome.

  1. Define the company's goals: The objectives set by the managers are provisional, based on an analysis and judgment as to what can and what should be accomplished by the organization within a certain period. Better objectives will ensure better outcomes
  2. Define also employees objectives: After highlighting the company's goals to employees, its the duty of the manager to determine which goal can be achieved by employees with the available resources. Include the employees entirel on discussion to arrive at feasible goal.
  3. Monitor performance and progress continously: Manger should identifying ineffective programs by comparing performance with pre-established objectives, and design a sound organizational structure with clear, responsibilities and decision-making authority at the appropriate level.
  4. Evaluate the performance: for ease comparison. Like in this case do surveys or interviews or look at the general company performance level for evaluation.
  5. Profide feedback. The key role of managers under MBO is continous feedback on performance and goals that allow individuals to monitor and correct their own actions.
  6. The last step is the performance appraisal. This is the regular review of employee performance within companies.
