It is challenging for a group whose one member belongs to an opposite gender from the rest of the individuals. The other members tend to isolate themselves from the opposite-gendered member, especially when they want to engage in informal gatherings. In a scenario where I am the only female in a team of male members and assigned a task to develop a new smartphone for SONY, I will overcome the barriers by educating my team on alleviating gender bias. In most cases, individuals may not recognize their gender biases and gender ignorant areas. Since our group exhibits gender biases when my male counterparts engage in informal gatherings, I will encourage them to remain considerate and avoid such meetings to ensure that everybody participates in every team aspect. Promoting diversity in their engagements and communicating with them openly would make the group coherent in everything they do to avoid gender isolation.
