The managerial roles and skills of a not-for-profit organization greatly differ from that of a for-profit organization. In addition to that, leading a non-profit-making organization means ensuring that both the lowly-paid and the voluntary employees are always highly motivated and constantly passionately speak about the goals of the organization while in a profit-making firm, it is generally influencing employees to work towards a given financial goal. Finally, the controlling function in a non-profit-making organization requires a leader who can take control of situations such as urgent budget cuts and program adjustments brought about by stakeholder populace changes while that of a for-profit organization mostly means identifying errors and setting measures to correct them.
