Training and development play a key role in ensuring improvement in terms of organizational effectiveness and the individuals within the teams. The practice is associated with the present or immediate activities. On the other hand, development is a process for the long run of the firm or entity. In the current competitive market, employees have to replenish their knowledge, sharpen, and gain new skills. This will eventually benefit them as individuals as well as the organization.

Some of the employee and development examples include; employee mentoring, training and coaching, work rotation, shadowing of the job, on the job training, and finally, formal training sessions for both an individual and the corporate. It is the responsibility of a manager to evaluate the success or failure of the training programs. The managers must keep the training and development records for referencing purposes to improve employment opportunities.
