I disagree. That’s too specific. What we have was not invented so much as a psychological inheritance: we are hierarchical. We need structures of hierarchy to get big things done. On our own and usually with five or less people, we can get by on consensus. More than five, and we need someone with some authority to get people to do their individual parts and make big decisions. That hierarchy is the source of your word “management”. I agree that it is necessary for civilization, but it wasn’t an invention.
