Suppose that you and your best friend both work in a restaurant. Tips make up a large part of your earnings. You report all the tips you receive and are surprised to learn that your friend does not. Write a persuasive letter to your friend, explaining why he or she should report all tips and how the taxes from these tips fund public services.

Dear friend

Let me hope that this may find you well. This is to kindly bring it to your attention that I discovered some tips are not being submitted for filling tax in your reports. I truly understand the responsibility you have that could make you fail to submit those reports. We all have such responsibilities and the weights might differ but we all have a mutual responsibility and patriotic obligation to our state by complying to the laws of the land. Paying taxes should be self-driven and we should do it voluntarily with the affection having in mind that we are doing for the interest of every citizen in the state. It is through these taxes that the federal government raises revenue to fund most of the public projects. It is sad to witness the lack of medical equipment and understaffed medical facilities as a result inadequacy of public funds of which we are all liable to contribute. I would never stop paying my taxes to avoid seeing your children fail to have sidewalk pavements to school.

You may find it easy to evade paying tax now but its implications are more painful than you can imagine. This restaurant that is earning us these tips is under maximum surveillance with federal fire fighting units who are fully funded by revenues collected from your tax . Kindly do your state the justice by complying to submit all your earnings honestly. Think about it and think more about everyone around you that needs your help through your tips more than you have ever imagined.
