Americans lent the Allied countries, Russia, Germany, France, Belgium, Bulgaria, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Austria, Hungary, Romania and Latvia, seven billion dollars during the World War I. Shortly after the war, they lent another three billion dollars. (VOA)
