The treaty of Versailles was a peace treaty .it was an important treaty in the history of Axis and Allies powers since it brought World War 1 to an end. The treaty ended the state of war between Germany and the Allied powers.

The treaty was meant to create peace, but created more problems. It forced Germany to lose territory, caused economic uncertainties and left thousands of Germans homeless. This created German resentment towards the western world. The effects of the treaty of Versailles weakened Germany’s government. It further led to the rise of fascism and a powerful Hitler in Germany. All this eventually led to the start of world war2.
