Scientific view about origin of man is that humans emerged through an evolutionary process. The evidence on which scientific views of human evolution are based comes from several fields including anthropology and evolutionary developmental biology. The main source of scientific knowledge about the evolutionary origin of man has conventionally been fossil record, but development of genetics in recent decades has led to the utilization of molecular biology. Human evolution from its first separation from the last common ancestors of humans and apes is characterized by various developmental, physiological, morphological and behavioral changes including: bipedalism, lengthened ontogeny, increased brain size and decreased sexual dimorphism.
