World history has registered several treaties to curb human rights violations. Examples of the treaties are the Magna Carta British document of 1215 and the French Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen of 1789. The paper is, therefore, premised on examining the fundamental differences between the named documents.

The French declaration was enacted by the Third Estate described by the common people as the National Assembly. On the other hand, the Magna Carta Document was between King John and the Rebel Barons (TNA, 2015). It was a peace treaty that provided a new relationship framework between the king and the subjects.

The Magma Carta document was also signed to protect the rebel's rights and property against tyrannical leadership. The treaty aimed at airing the grievance against the feudal system. In contrast, the declaration of the Rights of Man and the citizen is a document that granted an equal right to every man (Elysee, n.d). The document granted the citizens all human freedom after the French revolution against King Louis XVI.

Magna Carta document was mainly based on the changes made on the land issue, taxation, and the ownership of the properties (TNA, 2015). However, the French declaration of human right of 1789 spelled out the equal rights and freedom of all common men (Elysee, n.d). Everyone had equal rights as that of the clergy and the nobility.

The king’s leadership position was not interrupted by Magna Carta.  Only a few changes on land ownership and taxation were reformed to reduce the powers of the King. However, the declaration of the citizen’s right led to ouster of King Louis XVI.

In summary, the documents are the epitome of human rights. They provided a framework for the elimination of tyrannical ideologies. They also act as a symbol of present-day liberation.
