It created the American National Identity. The civil war unified the confederate sovereign states and created a united nation with a sovereign national government. It also led to freedom where all people were deemed equal, with equal rights and liberties. Thus creating citizenship of different kinds of people from different parts of the world. It galvanized the United States and created the National American spirit. Due to the declaration of equality, most civil rights movements were formed to fight for equality and rights of all Americans.
