The first Kenbak-1 was invented in 1971, making the personal computer possible. It was developed by John Blankenbaker and sold in 1971 with the first piece going for $ 750. It received its name from Mr. Blankenbaker. It had a small memory of 256 bytes as well as being an 8-bit machine. The output was displayed by lights while input was keyed by switches. It was released into the market five years before Apple was launched.
