After watching the video about Sam Nzinga and the Soweto Uprising, think about another way that a government somewhere in the world seeks to limit media coverage to prevent igniting protest movements against itself.
Limit media coverage is one of the ways that dictators and bad leaders use to hide the evil that is experienced in their govenements. The same challenge that journalists faced in the Soweto uprising can also be experienced even in present times in some countires. some of the countries that limit Media freedom include:
South Korea
The mass media in North Korea is amongst the most strictly controlled in the world.
China
The government Censors media content for political and to control the populace.
Russia
The government has expanded laws and regulations tightening control over internet infrastructure, online content, and privacy of communications.
Hungary
The government Fidesz party has consolidated its control of the media
Serbia
The intimidation and harassment still are experienced in journalists' day-to-day work.
