US soldiers found it difficult to fight the Vietnamese Guerilla warrior's VC, for they made sure that they remained unidentified. Vietnam gorilla warriors represented themselves as peasants during the day and as soldiers during the night. The terrain of Vietnam was conducive and favoured the guerrilla war tactics compared to the conventional war tactics that the US military soldiers exercised during the war. Most of the Vietnam war tactics and mechanisms were indigenous and strange to be predicted or estimated. VC used booby traps like punji stake traps alongside improvised explosives that gave American soldiers a hard time combat. American soldiers also had poor coordination whereby their troops caused one out of every soldier's deaths due to confusion of attacking the most appropriate enemy.
