The intelligentsia greatly contributed to the African liberation.They believed that black people needed a separate nation-state in order to be truly free of the injustices perpetrated against them by whites over the last few hundred years. The formed movements such pan africanism to fight for the liberation of the Africans. This movement united blacks in solidarity with each other in the promotion of an idea of a better idea for a black.
