Reasons Why Christopher Columbus And the Spanish Might Not Have Seen the Taino’s And Kalinago’s Way of Life as Not Constituting A Civilization

To start with, Christopher Columbus' voyages to America led to the Spain change in various ways. First, Spain was afforded by the new world a lot of wealth due to improved plantations of agriculture and vast sources of mines for silver and gold. However, this made Spain have improved in its military, making Spain emerge as superior in Europe. This also made Spain have an improved navy system (Stone, 2017). Another reason is the meeting of Columbus with the Taino people on his arrival to the Caribbean. Therefore, these show the Taino people as seen to be the changes in Europe through Spain's new world exploration. Again, Taino had an animism religion that focused on animals and creatures' spirits because they were mistreated, losing hope.
