Was colonial America a democratic society?
Yes, colonial America was considered as a democratic society. This is because even though the colonies were categorized as southern colonies, middle colonies, and New England, they formed a unified culture. Due to the new American culture evident in the nation, the colonists in various colonies started thinking and behaving in a different manner than how their English counterparts used to be. This made colonial America display democratic society characteristics that were different from the England monarchy, thus being considered as a democratic society.
