The Great Compromise was formed during the fiery dispute  of 1787 Constitutional Convention. In the case of the absence of great compromise, the states with big populations would have more representation and more control in Congress because they had the most people and paid the greatest taxes. They wanted to have representatives assigned in proportion to the population. The great compromise advocated for One house representation based only on the state population. One house equal representation from each state regardless of the population and Two houses equal representation from each state and representation based on state population.in case the great compromise didn’t work the representation might have been asked on the extent of the state in that representation would base on equality by votes. The great compromise led to the generation of a two chambered Congress. Also formed was the House of Representatives which is defined by a state's population. Large states advocated for representation by population  while small states argued for equal representation by State. The great compromise allowed for both by establishing the House of Representatives, which was apportioned by populations, and the Senate which represented the states equally most power would have been in the hands of the state, the economy would have flattened since the central government would have lacked the power to enforce tax law and the regulation of commerce.
