Imperialism is the major cause to the rise of nationalism during the 19th century.In the 19th century European nations began expanding their territories due to many factors. They did that majorly for political,economic and social reasons. Land acquision took place in African countries such as Kenya,Tanzania and Nigeria. The need to have freedom inspired unity among the citizens hence the rise of nationalism as a way of advocating for freedom.Hence imperialism is the major land acquision that led to rise of nationalism.
