It was an armed conflict between the Pequot Indians led by Sassacus against the Connecticut colonialists with the help of British soldiers that took place in 1637. The main reason for the war was control of trade. The Pequot attempted to maintain their control on the trade while the British attempted to subjugate the dutch-Pequot control over the fur and wampum trade
