The Enabling Act was the main reason Hitler was able to consolidate his power in 1933–34 since it gave him an absolute power to make his laws. However, he used various events such as; Reichstag fire, which he used to imprison many communists that campaigned against him. Hitler's use of Reichstag fire allowed the Nazis to announce that the state was in danger during the election. Hitler ruled by terror, destroyed democracy by using the one-party state- to order the government, and destroyed all opposition leaders.
